Jaxson {2}

I’ve been working with this cutie for a while now! We decided to meet outside of the Franklin Park Conservatory to capture his two year milestone. Grandma joined us this time, and man, does he love his Grandma! She was so helpful with getting smiles and laughs. Jaxson’s personality always shines in the photos! He’s got the best expressions!

I love fall photo sessions! It’s my favorite season and my favorite holiday. I even brought along my orange ottoman to go along with the fall color scheme. The waterfalls here are gorgeous, but tricky when dealing with young children. The kiddos could walk right into that water! Also, who wants to look at the camera when there’s all that awesome water and rocks to throw? I was so happy though with how the photos came out!

When you’re looking through the photos, pay attention to the one of him walking up the bridge. Can you see he’s carrying his stuffed monkey? So cute!

Natalie {2}

I photographed this cutie for her first birthday and the photos came out absolutely amazing!  So, I was really looking forward to working with her again!  Now that she’s more mobile, she definitely made me work harder for the photos lol!  We decided to use the inside of the Franklin Park Conservatory for this session.  The butterfly exhibit was out, so a lot of those serious face photos you’ll see are her staring at them.  We spent most of our time in the butterfly room chasing Natalie, because she was chasing the butterflies!  I think she liked playing in the water fountain more though.  She really wanted to get into that water!

You’ll notice most of Natalie’s photos were taken while she was on the move.  This is the reason why I don’t photograph in a studio.  When I say I will follow your kiddo around and capture them in a natural way, this is exactly what I mean.  Sure, we tried to coax Natalie into some poses, but pretty much this is all her own personality showing through in each photo.

Throwback Thursday {Baby Dylan}

I just photographed this family last week, and they are my favorite photos so far!  “Baby Dylan” is now two and his big brother, Cohen, will be turning five soon.  I’ve known their parents for 11 years now.  Brandy and I worked together for a very long time.  The past couple of years, I unfortunately don’t see them that often since we no longer work together.

Almost a year ago, Brandy was involved in a very serious car accident.  Both boys were in the car too.  Fortunately, the boys only had very minor injuries.  Brandy, on the other hand, had several fractures.  We all know the saying, you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Well, the only thing they lost that day was their car, but the fact that they could have lost much much more is a scary thought.  I’ll never forget the look on Nathan’s face when I visited them at the hospital.  He was crouched onto the ground in the hallway with his head in his hands.  When he finally looked at me I knew he was thinking about how close he came to loosing his entire family.

Brandy had a long recovery.  Being a mother of two while wearing a back brace and loosing the use of your left hand was definitely not easy.  She made it though!  When we were together last week she showed me that she has lost some motion in her left wrist, but other than that is doing great considering.

We may not see each other everyday like we use to, or even once a month, but I will always love this family dearly.  With the anniversary of the accident approaching, I’m so honored to be capturing priceless memories for them and reminding everyone how priceless our time here together really is.

Let’s end on a happy note with the first photos of baby Dylan.  This was my first outdoor newborn session.  Dylan did awesome the entire time.  I honestly don’t remember him crying at all!  They have the two cutest little guys!

Urban Session with Mr. Madden {2}

I was so looking forward to this session!  I’ve only worked with Madden once, but he was such a cutie and the camera loved him!  I also really love the location we chose, North Bank Park.  It’s one of the best places to capture the city skyline.  We were so lucky that the weather was beautiful the day we met.

Once again, Madden was so easy and fun to work with!  He pretty much posed himself the entire session!  He was in denial about this being his two year session though!  You’ll see in the photos he’s pretty sure he’s actually four or five years old!  I was in love with those stylish green pants mom chose for him to wear.  Neither dad nor Madden were thrilled about them though!  Apparently, when mom was dressing Madden he made it very clear those were not his pants lol!  He was a trooper though and wore them like a stud in all of the photos!

Gaige {2}

I’ve been photographing this cutie since he was a newbie!  It’s always amazing to watch kiddos grow up in front of the camera.  Mom and I had decided to try and capture some fun superhero photos of Gaige in a cape and underwear.  Gaige was really comfy in only his undies lol, but he hated the cape!  Thankfully dad was there to airplane him high in the sky for the true flying effect, and also got him to smile 🙂  I just love that butt shot!  I told Mom to keep it for when he starts dating lol!

That really cute Superman banner was made by my mom-in-law.  Typically, banners are hard to use outside, because of the wind.  I got smart this time though, and taped it down to the barn.  Problem solved!

Josie {2}

Miss Josie was only five weeks old when I started photographing her!  I worked with her mama for a long time, so now it’s really nice to be able to catch up during our photo sessions together.  We decided to go to the Franklin Park Conservatory for this session, since the weather in Ohio is terrible right now.  The conservatory had just put out their orchid exhibit and it was so beautiful.  You will also see some of the beautiful chihuly glass in one of the photos.  Josie wasn’t really a fan of having her photo taken that day, but I still got some great shots of her!
